It has been less than two years since Rise of the Silver Surfer Fox suits are looking to reboot "Fantastic Four" film franchise say the gang over at the IESB.net.
Despite critical drubbing, both the previous 'Four ' films took in lots of cash--$300 million worldwide. The successful numbers and acclaim that "Iron Man" and "The Dark Knight " got has the studio champing at the bit.
The site adds that Fox wants to reboot the series in a tone described as 'less bubble gum' and more serious.
Would it be a total reboot? Or a just sorta ignore the other films ala The Incredible Hulk...
How do ya measure a successful relaunch?
The Hulk 2008 film ended up with only $18 million more worldwide than 2003's starter Hulk--$263 M vs. $245 M and reviews were just as mixed with 2008's Hulk scoring a 66% & 6.2/10 vs. 2003's Hulk with a 61% & 6.2/10 score via Rotten Tomatoes.
The FF flicks were not bad just not stupendous.
Reboot at this point is a tough sell though
