Standing Taller

Author Stephen King's epic book The Stand is getting adapted for the big screen says Heat Vision.

The studios and producers will sit down with writers and directors in the coming weeks to find the right take on the material. One thing to be determined is whether to attempt the adaptation in one or multiple movies.

The novel, first published in 1978 and then revised in 1990, tells a story of good vs. evil after a virus wipes out most of the American population. The survivors end up fighting the Antichrist-like Randall Flagg.

There was that six-hour mini-series adaptation in 1994 while Marvel has recently produced an acclaimed Comic Book adaptation.

King will be involved in some way with the project

Roy Lee will be producing
