Kirk Off To Asgard?

Brian Kirk, best known for directing episodes of the first season of  the cable series Game of Thrones is being put at top of the list to helm Thor 2 says Variety.

Thor director Kenneth Branagh had opted out of the job last month

The sequel is expected to be on a larger scale than the first film with double the amount of Asgardian characters and the inclusion of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) battling more mythical Norse creatures.

Thrones has a very Thor like feel to it thus Kirk's name being banded about is not a surprise

The sequel is set for release on July 26, 2013, with production getting underway by early next year.
