Gilford Gets Last Stand

Zach Gilford (TV's "Friday Night Lights") is set to join the action thriller "The Last Stand" says Deadline

Directed by Jee-woon Kim--who is making his English language debut--the film follows a sheriff in a small town (Arnold Schwarzenegger), who is the last one standing up against a Mexican drug cartel, which has escaped from a courtroom. Peter Stormare will play Burrell, a seasoned war veteran who carries out the villain's orders and leads a crew of men to try to take down Arnie

Gilford will play the young small-town cop who works for Schwarzenegger’s sheriff character. Rodrigo Santoro also plays a rookie cop named Frank Martinez

Andrew Knauer wrote the spec script which Jeffrey Nachmanoff and George Nolfi polished.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing the pic.

Any time an FNL alum gets a good gig I'm happy....

Production is set to kick off soon in New Mexico.
