Chatting with Neowin producer Mark Hulme spoke about the upcoming biopic about the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs
starring Ashton Kutcher.
Matt Whiteley wrote the script that Hulme confirms primarily focuses on the early years of Apple, its founding and the up and down years from 1971 to 2000. The film itself is not based on one particular book though. Unlike a rival biopic in development based on Walter Isaacson's authorised biography called Steve Jobs
"Since Apple was a public company and since Steve Jobs was a very visible and much-written-about individual, there is a wealth of source material. We also enlisted the support of primary sources who knew him personally."
He died last fall after a battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Talks are now underway with actors to play key supporting roles. The film is being shot primarily in Los Angeles and is "not connected with Apple in any way".
Joshua Michael Stern ("Swing Vote") will call action on the biopic which will be shot during Kutcher's hiatus from Two And A Half Men as he moves closer to new deal to stay with the sit com
The film is intended for release late this year.
