Andy Lau Nabs Iron Man 3 Role

Chinese superstar Andy Lau is in final negotiations to join writer/director Shane Black's "Iron Man 3" according to Neon Punch.


The story is based on the popular six-issue mini series "Extremis" by Warren Ellis--the film's events take place after The Avengers. The plot involves the spread of a virus through nanobots.

Lau is reportedly set to play a Chinese scientist who comes to the aid of his friend Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and giving him technology to battle Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce's characters.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Chastain co-star.

Production will take place on location in Hong Kong, Shanghai and other parts of China later this summer once filming wraps up in North Carolina which starts in a few weeks
