Hopkins Joins "Noah"

Director Darren Aronofsky took to Twitter this morning to break the news that Anthony Hopkins has joined his upcoming biblical epic "Noah".


An adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah's Ark, Russell Crowe stars as the man who must build an Ark to save all of creation from a coming flood.

Aronofsky says "I'm honored to be working with the great sir Anthony Hopkins. We just added him to the stellar cast of #Noah. #methuselahlives."

Hopkins is playing Methuselah, the oldest living man who dies a week before the great flood.

 Saoirse Ronan, Douglas Booth, Logan Lerman, Ray Winstone, and Emma Watson also star.

Aronofsky & Ari Handel, wrote the original script for "Noah," but they evenually handed re-writing duties to John Logan (The Last Samurai, Gladiator).

Aronofsky, Mary Parent and Scott Franklin are producing the pic.

The film begins shooting this Summer in New York and Iceland to meet its March 28th 2014 U.S. release date.
