Last Blood Movie Ramps Up

Producer Rick Benattar ("Real Steel", "Ironclad") is keen on doing the long gestating live-action film adaptation of the popular comic "Last Blood" says Deadline.

The story is set in a future in which vampires battle zombies to protect the last surviving humans and preserve their supply of fresh blood.

More than 20 million readers worldwide have checked out the online comic since its debut in 2006.

Simon Hunter ("Mutant Chronicles") will helm the project from a script adapted by Nick V. Sterling, creators Bobby Crosby and Christopher Charles Crosby.

Christian Arnold-Beutel Aimee Schoof, Isen Robbins Benny R. Powell, and the Crosby's will produce the film.

Production begins in November.
