Tatum And JGL Up For "Guys And Dolls" Remake

Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are seemingly wanted to star in a remake of the musical Guys and Dolls for Fox says Deadline.

The 1955 film directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz for producer Samuel Goldwyn was a highly successful big screen version of the Broadway Musical based on author Damon Runyon's short story. The movie starred Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra, and Vivian Blaine.

The plot follows Nathan Detroit who resides in a town full of captive gamblers and wants to set up a floating crap game but needs money to do it. He bets his pal Sky Masterson that he can’t get the wholesome Sarah Brown — who runs a mission — to go with him to Havana.

Both actors are said to be interested in the project, but won’t commit until there’s a script and a director has signed on.

You may recall that both men showed off their musical skills during the last Oscars telecast
