Viola Davis Up For Lead In Mann's Next Film

Viola Davis is in talks to star as the female lead in "Heat" and "Collateral" director Michael Mann's as yet Untitled Cyberthriller says Deadline.

"Thor" star Chris Hemsworth will take the lead role in the project. Mann has been location scouting around Hong Kong, and the likes of Wei Tang, Cheung Ka-fai and Shawn Yue have all reportedly had meetings with Mann about acting in the pic

Mann is co-writing the script with Morgan Davis Foehl (Mass Effect) and has been developing the project for over a year. Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing the movie.

Production is set to begin in China next month.

This will be Mann's first directing effort since 2009's "Public Enemies".
