Adrian Lyne ("Flashdance," "Fatal Attraction") is set to direct a film adaptation of author Patricia Highsmith's 1957 novel "Deep Water" says Deadline.This film marks Lyne's first gig since his last film "Unfaithful" hit over a decade ago,
The story follows Vic and Melinda, an attractive young married couple whose mind games with each other take a twisted turn when people around them start turning up dead.
It would seem that a major star is already in talks for the project
Zach Helm is writing the adapted script.
Ben Forkner, Guymon Casady, Garrett Basch and Steve Zaillian are producing the film.
Highsmith related films include the likes of "Strangers On A Train" and "The Talented Mr. Ripley" with new films based on her works "The Blunderer" The Price of Salt and a Strangers on a Train remake in development. The already completed "The Two Faces of January" bows later this year.
