The film is based on the inspirational true story of high school football coach Bob Ladouceur, (Caviezel) and his assistant coach Terry Eidson (Chiklis). who led the perennial losing California team, the De La Salle Spartans Football to twelve consecutive undefeated seasons from 1992 to 2004 and a streak of 138 straight victories.
Dern will play Ladouceur’s wife, Ludwig will play the Spartans’ standout running back Chris Ryan.
"Coach Carter" and "Save the Last Dance" helmer Thomas Carter is directing using
Scott Marshall Smith's ("The Score") adapted screenplay fom the book by Neil Hayes
Cathy Schulman and David Zelon are producing the film.
Production begins this week in New Orleans.
