A Story In Pictures

Director Michael Mann is developing a biopic, about war photographer Robert Capa (1913-1954) says Variety.

The story will concentrate on the Hungarian refugee's two-year romance from 1935 to 1937 with fellow photographer and Jewish refugee Gerda Taro.

The start of the Spanish Civil War a year later began Capa's rise as the most renowned war photographer ever and established Taro as the first frontline female battle photographer before her death at the Battle of Brunete.

The studio has also acquired Susana Fortes', Spanish-language novel "Waiting for Robert Capa" that Jez Butterworth will adapt into a screenplay.

Mann is a great director and if this turns out just half as good as his Ali biopic.
