If Looks Could Kill

Angelina Jolie. is in talks and Leonaardo DiCaprio has been approached to headline Ridley Scott's "Gucci", a look at the turbulent times in the 70's and 80's of the family-owned fashion giant reports Variety.

The biopic follows Maurizio Gucci, the grandson of founder Guccio Gucci , who came out as the unlikely winner of a bloody power struggle to run the family business. The in-fighting and dilution of the brand's prestige brought the company to ;the edge of bankruptcy in the early 90's.

Maurizio was gunned down in front of his Milan apartment in 1995 on the eve of a fashion show that would prove to be the start of brand's revival thanks to newly installed creative director Tom Ford who turned the company around making it a multi-billion dollar powerhouse.

Jolie would play Patrizia Reggiano, Maurizio's ex-wife who was sentenced to 29 years in jail for plotting the murder despite claims she was blackmailed into going along with it.

DiCaprio would play Maurizio but hasn't signed on to the project.

Charles Randolph wrote the current draft of the screenplay which expected to be getting a rewrite

Filming is aiming to kick off next year.
