On With The Show...

As the only wide release in theaters this week Marc Graser of Variety reports on the big premiere of Michael Jackson's This Is It concert docu film (reviews ) on Tuesday night.

The film begins its 2 week run worlwide today.

Recession be damned: Sony spared no expense in putting on an impressive show at L.A. Live for the Tuesday evening premiere of "Michael Jackson's This Is It."

The organizers also lost no time in tapping into the pic's moneymaking potential: "This Is It" may be the only premiere to sell merchandise. Available to attendees were $30 "This Is It" T-shirts, the film's CD and key chains.

Despite winds gusting up to 36 miles per hour, the red carpet featured crystal-clad women posing inside massive swinging chandeliers over the venue's courtyard...
