Bigger Web To Catch Spidey

First there were 5 and then there was a front runner to play the lead in the as yet Untitled Spider-Man Reboot...Instead of an official casting announcement--the list of choices has apparently grown by 2 more...Joining contenders Jamie Bell, Alden Ehrenreich, Frank Dillane, Andrew Garfield and Josh Hutcherson...

The LA Times reports that Kick Ass star Aaron Johnson and Star Trek's Anton Yelchin are on the list as well.

Alvin Sargent (Spider-Man 3) is currently in the middle of re-writing James Vanderbilt’s (Zodiac) script, which is said to be “a more gritty, contemporary redo of the series” as Marc Webb preps to direct.

The La Times piece doesn't offer any other specifics other than the names so it's hard to tell where we are here.

Yelchin has the Star Trek Sequel and the upcoming Fright Night remake to worry about while Johnson has the probable Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall

Either of them would work--but do they really need to be attached to another big franchise?

GO UNKNOWN!
