Practiice What You Preach

I Am Number Four director  D.J. Caruso has a casting wish list for the "Preacher" film adaptation that he's working on.

Chris Pine  who Caruso wants to portray Jesse, a role linked to Johnny Depp at one time .Shia Labeouf--Caruso’s  lead from Disturbia and Eagle Eye – who he wants as Arseface and Alex Pettyfer as The Saint of Killers.

Pettyfer, Pine & Labeouf

Nothing official yet...I would expect to see actors who are a bit older in the leads than DJ's Picks...

Of the gig Caruso says

"It is a crazy road trip and I think what’s amazing and what makes Sony so brave is they can see there’s a real universality to the story when you have good vs. evil," he told CloneWeb. "I think when you have these crazy characters, that are not necessarily politically correct, there’s something generally attractive to those characters and those elements."

"But at the end of the day it really is a story about good vs. evil and the decisions that you make," he added. "So I think there’s a great universality that makes the movie commercial but at the same time it’s one of those that will shock you."

Based on the popular DC /Vertigo series from Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon about a down-and-out Texas preacher who gains immense powers. Soon he teams up with a former girlfriend and a hard-drinking Irish vampire and sets out on a journey across America to find God -who apparently had abandoned his duties in heaven- and hold him accountable for his negligence.

John August is writing the adapted script for the gestating film.
