Alec Baldwin told Vulture recently that he has dropped out of Men in Black III
"I'm not doing that. I'm out of it, the schedule didn't work out"
Baldwin was gonna play the head of the MIB agency in the 1960's-set scenes of the sci-fi comedy where stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones travel back in time
Jeff Nathanson (Catch Me If You Can) and David Koepp.rewrite the script, specifically working on the story's time-travel component. Etan Cohen wrote the first draft.
The 3-D pic is planned for release on May 25, 2012.
The production's delay until March 28th to resolve script issues has resulted in a conflict with Baldwin's schedule.
The actor remains attached to the musical "Rock of Ages" and has hired a voice coach for a "modest" number he will do in the film.
