The latest collection of some industry bits...

-A remake of the 1972 drama "The Harder They Come" is on the way reports Screen Daily.

-Actor/comedian/writer Danny McBride tells GQ that he already has plans for an upcoming project based on a screenplay he wrote with Jody Hill ("Eastbound & Down," "The Foot Fist Way").



-Steve Knight's thriller screenplay "Hummingbird"  has been purchased reports Variety. The story follows an ex-special services soldier turned criminal and marks Knight's debut as a director. Knight calls it story "about redemption and love in a rarely seen urban underworld". Shooting is expected to start this fall

-Speaking on Radio 5 (via Bleeding Cool), 'Alex Rider' novel series author Anthony Horowitz revealed that he's the first writer to get to work on adapting the script for the second "Tintin" film

-Apple Unveils Final Cut Pro X to Enthusiastic Crowd and it looks AWSOME folks!



-The fact that there's synopsis of the "Superman" reboot that says the main antagonists will be Metallo and General Sam Lane. is kinda funny when you consider that reps for actor Adam Harris have confirmed the actor "has gone through two levels of auditions"  Harris auditioned for the role of Lex Luthor in the upcoming feature according to some Zod was officially cast on Sunday.

-Marvel comics legend Stan Lee has says that he would love to make a cameo appearance in "The Dark Knight Rises" How cool would that for Lee to crossover to the DC Universe for once?

-The biopic of celebrated singer/songwriter Jeff Buckley is now finally moving ahead with Ridley Scott's son Jake Scott ("Welcome to the Rileys") set to direct reports Deadline.

Universal Pictures has picked up debut writer Matthew J. O'Neill's action-comedy spec script "Bait and Switch" and will develop it as a potential Mark Wahlberg-led feature. Story details are being kept under wraps, but Wahlberg will produce along with Scott Stuber, John Jacobs and Stephen Levinson says Variety



-Andy Serkis, who played Gollum in Peter Jackson’s "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, is not only reprising the character in "The Hobbit" but will serve as second unit director on the two films currently in production in New Zealand according to THR
