Levinson Shoots Gotti

Barry Levinson will step in to take over directing duties on the biopic Gotti: Three Generations says The Hollywood Reporter.

Director Nick Cassavetes parted ways with the production last month....

John Gotti who took over the powerful Gambino crime family in the 70's, was convicted in 1992 of committing thirteen murders. The film will explore that through the eyes of his son John A. Gotti Jr.

John Travolta stars as Gotti Sr.

Lindsay Lohan will play Kim Gotti,, the wife of Jr Gotti Joe Pesci is set to play Angelo Ruggiero The studio wanted to nab James Franco to play the younger Gotti-no word yet if that's still the case. Leo Rossi wrote the screenplay.

Barry's been in a bit of a theatical film drought. Perhaps Gotti will return Levinson making good movies, which he hasn't done since 1999's Liberty Heights. His latest film, The Bay, will be released soon. He is also attached to direct O.K.C., about Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh

A Fall start is being eyed for Gotti
