Saoirse Ronan Leading “The Host”
The sci-fi novel The Host likely sold most of its copies due to the name of its author Stephenie Meyer. For those not in the know, she penned the four Twilight books that have inspired both love and hatred.
Apparently her name is good enough for a film, too.

The film adaptation of The Host was confirmed quite some time ago, but now the film finally has its star in the form of Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan. According to Deadline Hollywood, she’s attached to lead the film as both the protagonist Melanie Stryder and the alien Wanderer. Andrew Niccol, who penned the script, might also direct. The film will be auctioned at Cannes next week.
