Fear Index Gets Film Adaptation

A film adaptation of author Robert Harris' upcoming novel "The Fear Index" is being developed reports Deadline.



The contemporary thriller focuses on Dr. Max Hoffman, a legendary physicist who was once employed on the Large Hadron Collider and now uses his secret system of computer algorithms for trading in the world's financial markets. No one, including his rivals are sure how he does it, but his hedge fund - the "Fear Index" generates big returns for investors.

One late night while asleep in his home beside Lake Geneva, an intruder wakes him and his wife, and, in the next 48 hours, while markets border on another crash, Hoffman's world starts falling part, leaving him to figure out who aims on destroying him.

No writer or director is yet attached.

Peter Chernin, Dylan Clark and Jenno Topping will produce.
