Samuel Is A "Drift"-er

Xavier Samuel is doing another surfing drama as he joins the film "Drift" according to Variety.

Set in Western Australia in the early seventies, the pic centers on two brothers who open a surf-wear store and eventually build an empire - the film using their tale to explore the commercialization of surfing.

Sam Worthington and Myles Pollard also star.

Morgan O'Neill directs from a script by Ben Nott.

Production kicks off August 1st in the Margaret River region of Western Australia.

Samuel previously starred in the surfing-used as a backdrop--Aussie coming-of-age drama "Newcastle" and next appears in Roland Emmerich's conspiracy thriller "Anonymous" and the 3D 'sharks in a flooded supermarket' action flick "Bait".
