Considering all of its woes getting off the ground --this news, not a surprise but unfortunate...Legendary Pictures has pulled the plug on the theological war epic "Paradise Lost" says Reuters.
The film was taking John Milton's classic 17th century poem "Paradise Lost" story and reimagining it with a family friendly, action-oriented slant
This film was done casting and followed the fallen angel Lucifer (Bradley Cooper) who, after being cast out of Heaven, mounts an army that battles the forces of good. Michael (Benjamin Walker) Lucifer's brother and the leader of said good forces
Camilla Belle and Diego Boneta were pairing up as Adam and Eve Casey Affleck was to play the part of Gabriel, the chief of the angelic guards who watch over Paradise Djimon Hounsou has been cast as the Angel of Death Callan McAuliffe was set to play the role of the Archangel Uriel, one of the first seven archangels created by God and the dedicated second-in-command to Michael who leads Heaven's army against Lucifer's rebellion. Dominic Purcell was to portray the angel Jerahmeel who falls in love with Lucifer and is renamed Moloch after becoming his right-hand man. Rufus Sewell was ready to play Samael, Lucifer's partisan who urges him to start the rebellion in Heaven.
In December the film was going over the originally planned $120 million budget due to the extensive green screen work and VFX involved in creating the the picture A few weeks ago it was that filming would resume in June but now Legendary is pulling the plug altogether as a source tells the trade that the intricate special effects "required a substantial investment in technology" which made the necessary budget cuts impossible.
