Fassbender Is The Counselor For Scott

He was already wanted--and now he's confirmed - Michael Fassbender will star in Ridley Scott's thriller "The Counselor"-a spec script from Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy reports Deadline.


The story follows a respected lawyer (Fassbender) who thinks he can dip a toe into the drug business without getting pulled in, a decision he tries his best to survive. 

Meantime Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper and Brad Pitt have all been mentioned to possibly play the villain , a role being likemed to to Javier Bardem's turn in the adaptation of McCarthy's "No Country for Old Men".

Nick Wechsler, Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz will produce.

Production is due to kick off on May 1st.
