In a recent chat with MTV, Dwayne Johnson told them that plans to shoot the next two installments of The Fast and the Furious film series back-to-back may be scrapped after all...
"I don’t think we’re going to shoot them back-to-back. We were going to try that because it would make sense to have the same crew and have everybody there in one place, but I think we’re dealing with some weather issues, so from what I know we’re going to shoot Fast 6 first and then worry about 'Fast 7' a little later"
The Rock joined the series in last year's "Fast Five" which made over $625 million worldwide and scored the best reviews of the franchise.
Most of 5 was set in Rio de Janeiro, although a post-credits sequence was set in Berlin. In terms of locations in 6, Johnson says "We're going to be in the U.K., we're going to be in Germany, from what I know. That's the early talks."
He also confirms production kicks off in May this year which is more than enough time for Universal Pictures to stick to its currently targeted May 24th 2013 release date.
