A film adaptation of Stephen King's short story "The Reach" is on the way says The Hollywood Reporter.
The title refers to the 1.5 mile stretch of water between Goat Island and the Maine coastline.
The story, which appeared in his 1985 collection "Skeleton Crew" follows a 95-year-old lady who embarks on a troubled journey to the mainland from the island after the Reach freezes over for the first time in 50 years.
Grayson Ross and Jodi Hansell will produce. The film is currently being shopped to directors and agents.
