CBS Films has announced that they have secured the screen rights to the Square Enix "Deus Ex" video game franchise.
Set in the near future where human augmentation has triggered a technological renaissance, the story follows a security specialist who must embrace mechanical augments in order to unravel a global conspiracy.
First launched in 2000, the franchise was reintroduced with last year's "Deus Ex: Human Revolution". That game was not only a big earner but recieved over 100 industry awards.
As a result Revolution will serve as the primary springboard for the film
Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh are attached to produce.
