"Goosebumps" Flick Gets Going...Again!!

"Gulliver's Travels" director Rob Letterman is in talks to call the shots on the long in the works live-action film adaptation of "Goosebumps" says Deadline.

Based upon author R.L. Stine's popular young-adult novel series is made up of more than 50 books that often pay homage to classic sci-fi/horror movies. After nabbing the rights to the book series in 2008, Sony Pictures has been trying to adapt the property. The "Goosebumps" series sold more than 300 million copies worldwide.

Darren Lemke ("Shrek Forever After") was at least the fourth writer to take a shot at scripting the project. Larry Karaszewski, Scott Alexander, and Carl Ellsworth have all taken a whack at it.

Neal Moritz and Deborah Forte will produce.

The property has been adapted as a TV series in the 90's

This first film treatment is looked upon as a potential franchise launcher.
