Transformers Sequel Shoots In Michigan; Synopsis

The Michigan Film Office announced this week that production on Michael Bay's as yet "Untitled Transformers Sequel" will take place in the state, and in so they released what amouts to an early synopsis for the film:

As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs.

Bay has confirmed that the next  film is set four years after the events in Chicago as seen in the third film.


The new film folows a high school student, and daughter (Nicola Peltz) of Mark Wahlberg's character, and her racecar driver boyfriend--Jack Reynor--who is expected to be signed for three-picture deal. Josh Duhamel recently said that Bay is trying to ensure an appearance for his military hero character, Major Lennox in the film.

Ehren Kruger ("Transformers: Dark of the Moon") is writing the script for the fourth film which starts production in May and hits theaters on June 27th, 2014
