Mark Millar Offers Marvel Fims Update For Fox

Comics writer Mark Millar, acting in his official post as Fox's creative consultant on all of their comic book superhero projects, states that he's finally spoken with director Bryan Singer about "X-Men: Days of Future Past" In turn he briefly updated the other Marvel films at the studio.

"Days of Future-Past is potentially the biggest and most ambitious superhero movie ever made. I've seen this coming together in various stages, but now they're only weeks away from shooting it's really catching fire. I'll catch Bry in person before he heads to Montreal next month when I'm seeing Wolvie and we can chat a little more about the Fox grand plan. A very, very exciting time to be into this stuff, especially when you consider that the brilliant Josh Trank has "Fantastic Four" lined up for 2015.There's [also]a very exciting announcement you guys will hear about over the coming months (if not before)."

Millar was not kidding about the new X film being ambitious...Consider that--The entire X-Men: First Class cast is set to reprise their roles, including James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), and Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), and Nicholas Hoult (Beast).

The original trilogy stars Sir Ian McKellen Sir Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman are already poised to return again as well. Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pride) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman)Halle Berry (Storm) Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) While it was hoped that James Marsden (Cyclops) would be back. It seems Alan Cumming.(Nightcrawler) will not return.

Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage has a key role in the film. There is speculation that he is playing bad guy Apocalypse Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has joined the spectacle--as Blink, a mutant with the power of teleportation.  BooBoo Stewart is also in the film--character as yet unknown French actor Omar Sy also stars

Singer penned the treatment and produced 'First Class' which was directed by Matthew Vaughn. Now, their roles will be completely reversed for this sequel with Singer helming the film while Vaughn wrote the treatment and will produce with Lauren Shuler Donner and writer Simon Kinberg.

The sequel is based on a -2 issue story arc in the 'X-Men' comics published in 1981. Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes) is on board to pen the screenplay which will include New Mutants. Magneto and his relationship with Charles X. Xavier will be front and center as well.

Scheduled to begin shooting in April, "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" hits screens July 18th 2014.
