Based on the book by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent, which chronicled Burpo's (Kinnear) son's near-death experience and subsequent claim that he visited heaven. His family and the members of his small town do not believe him until his stories identify people who have passed away.
Christopher Parker is adapting the book into a script from which "Secretariat" director Randall Wallace will call the shots.
Joe Roth and T.D. Jakes will produce the pic.
Deadline also reported that Kinnear will star in the Sam Raimi--directed pilot episode of the U.S. remake of the comedic Australian legal series "Rake" at the FOX Network
