Jacki Weaver has joined the indie comedy "Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks" says Deadline.
Based on the play by Richard Alfieri the story follows a retired woman (Gena Rowlands) who hires a handsome, energetic
dance instructor (Cheyenne Jackson) to give her
private dance lessons — one per week for six weeks — in her gulf-front condo in
Florida.
Arthur Allan Seidelman, who directed the
productions on Broadway, in Los Angeles and on London’s
West End, is back directing the movie version using Alfieri’s adapted script.
Weaver will play the role of sassy vixen, Irene, one of the male lead's dance students.
Rita Moreno, Kathleen Rose Perkins, Anthony Zerbe and Simon
Miller co-star.
Thomas H. Brodek, György Gattyán, and András Somkuti will produce the film.
Production is set to start April 8 in
Budapest.
