A poll in Thursday's L.A. Times had 16 names and asked folks to choose their favorite to play Batman in the team up Man of Steel Sequel. Everyone from "TV stars such as Jensen Ackles and Andrew Lincoln to next generation stars Ryan Gosling and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to outliers like Simon Pegg and Daniel Dae Kim" were among those included.
Now though THR claims that "a totally different set of names are in the mix." Josh Brolin. The other names on the list include Gosling, Joe Manganiello, Richard Armitage, Matthew Goode, and Max Martini.
Each one brings a different Skill Set to the table
Manganiello was in the mix to play Superman for "Man Of Steel" director Zack Snyder before Henry Cavill got the nod.
Goode appeared in Snyder's adaptation of Watchmen as Ozymandias,
Brolin played Dwight in Miller/Robert Rodriguez directed sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
Gosling is the pretty boy (and youngest) of the bunch but he can bring an A game to any role.
Armitage played Thorin Oakshield in the film trilogy of The Hobbit
Martini is known for tough guy roles on TV but will be seen in this fall's biopic Captain Phillips
"Casting is likely to solidify in the coming weeks as Warner Bros wants to shoot the movie in early 2014 for a 2015 release."
Sources say the new movie written by David S. Goyer is going for the tone of the relationship and fight seen in Frank Miller’s 1980s ground-breaking mini-series The Dark Knight Returns (Miller’s cover of ‘Dark Knight Returns’ No. 2 sold on Friday for $$478,000 at auction.)
Miller and Snyder are said to be meeting in a few days about the project...
