The Wrap reports that Doug Liman ("The Bourne Identity," "Jumper") is in early negotiations to direct the action-thriller "Narco Sub".
David Guggenheim ("Safe House") wrote the script which deals with the semi-submersible crafts that South American cartels employ to smuggle cocaine into the United States.
Tony Scott was previously attached to helm the film before his death last year. His company Scott Scott Free Productions is still set to produce the film with Simon Kinberg.
Liman has just wrapped the Tom Cruise led sci-fi film "Edge Of Tomorrow".
