Relativity Nixes "Stretch Armstrong" Flick

Relativity Media has dropped plans for a film based on the classic toy "Stretch Armstrong" says
THR.

The action figure, a 13-inch, blond-haired muscled figure whose limbs could be stretched to nearly four feet, was first launched in the '70s.

Dean Georgaris wrote the latest script. Nicholas Stoller of Forgetting Sarah Marshall fame did a rewrite of the original screenplay that was penned by Steve Oedekerk.

Taylor Lautner was attached to play Stretch when Rob Letterman (Monsters vs Aliens, Shark Tale) had signed on to direct the live-action 3-D pic. Both Taylor and Rob jumped ship.

Ryan Kavanaugh, Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir were producing while Tucker Tooley was exec producing the film.

Although Relativity is skipping out on toy Stretch the company still has a "tremendous relationship" with Hasbro  but have "decided to focus on other projects. We look forward to continuing to work together."

I say just let this one die....Please
