Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Catches Role As Dave Duerson

Former Lost star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has signed on to join the sports drama "Game Brain" says Deadline.

Based upon the article in GQ the story revolves around pro football players who suffer concussions and the serious long term effects that have been revealed over the past few years. The topic has been making news of late with ex-NFL players coming forward to talk about how they have damaged their health due to concussions.

Think Michael Mann's "The Insider" but for professional sports rather than the tobacco industry.

Will Smith would play a neuropathologist who discovers the devastating side effects after repeated concussions.

Agbaje plays real-life NFL safety Dave Duerson who died in 2011 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. Duerson’s brain was sent to researchers, who determined that the athlete had suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy caused by his football injuries.

Bitsie Tulloch also recently joined the pic as  Keana Strzelczyk, the wife of late NFL player Justin Strzelczyk.

Alec Baldwin, Albert Brooks Paul Reiser and Gugu Mbatha-Raw also star.

Peter Landesman will write and direct the film.

Giannina Facio and Ridley Scott will produce the project.
