The story follows an older fading rock star (Meryl Streep) turned grocery store clerk,who after years of being estranged from her children, finally tries to reconnect as one of them goes through an ugly divorce.
Stan plays Streep's son.
Kevin Kline Mamie Gummer and Rick Springfield also star.
The script was written by Diablo Cody (Juno) from which Jonathan Demme set to direct.
Marc Platt and Mason Novick will produce the film.
Stan also nabbed a role in Ridley Scott’s space thriller "The Martian"
