Launched in 2011, the project allows players to use cubes to build walls to protect them from evil nocturnal monsters in a world known as The Nether. The game has since evoled though with players crafting astounding creations.
The official site for the game has over 100 million registered users--It's Xbox 360 version has sold over 10 million units.
No screenwriter is attached at this point.
Roy Lee and Jill Sobel Messick are producing the movie
