Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have pushed back its release of the horror sequel The Conjuring 2 Originally due to open on October 23rd next year, the studio has instead opted for an unspecific 2016 release.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are set to return as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The next movie will explore another of their famous cases investigating the paranormal. Writers Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes will pen the script
James Wan directed the first film, no word yet who will helm the sequel.
"The Conjuring" cost $20 million and went on to solid reviews and a $320 million worldwide gross.
Three weeks ago the spin-off film "Annabelle," shot for just $6 million, opened and has already made a total of $166 million worldwide
Variety says that studio isn't abandoning that October 2015 date--they've scheduled an untitled horror film in the slot.
