The cult 1984 action flick "Red Dawn" and the 1987 sci-fi classic RoboCop might be remade says The Hollywood Reporter.
At a press event during the Cannes Film Festival over the weekend MGM chiefs Harry Sloan and Mary Parent confirmed that both flicks are being seriously considered to go the retread route...
As far as I'm concerned remaking either one of those flicks is a bad idea. In the case of Dawn it's due to current state of the world today--and war we are in the middle of right now>As for Robo--I fear that the use of CGI would overtake what is still a very human story...
The pair also acknowledged the bad buzz surrounding Bryan Singer's."Valkyrie" but the duo said that the final film "will speak for itself."
That Valkyrie statement is a bit vague and could be taken to mean different things...It's not exactly a ringing endorsement.
