Sony Pictures has acquired the big screen rights to turn author R.L. Stine's popular young-adult novel series "Goosebumps" into a film franchise says Variety
Producer Neal H. Moritz wants to fast-track the project and the search is in for a writer to adapt. The 62 book series has been turned into a TV show aptly called Goosebumps that aired in the 1990s.
Moritz said they likely will cast unknown child actors and then use well-known stars in supporting roles.
The "Goosebumps" series have sold 300 million books - second only to the Harry Potter series.
You can certainly get plenty of material using 62 books as a jumping off point...
