Deadline Hollywood reports that a remake of the 80's horror comedy The Monster Squad is picking up steam
The original, directed by Fred Dekker and written by y Shane Black and Dekker followed a monster-lovin' group of kids who side with the Frankenstein monster and must do battle with Dracula, the Wolfman, the Mummy and the Gill-Man.
Rob Cohen who produced the '87 pic may direct the new version--at one time Mike Mitchell was said to be calling action on this one
Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form will co-produce.
The original pic was a good bit of cinema confection with a lot of fun in it--recapturing the spirit will be tough
