Legendary Pictures has officially announced they will develop and produce a new film based on Toho Company’s Godzilla monster via a press release
Legendary "intends to approach the film and its characters in the most authentic manner possible". In the near future they expect to announce a filmmaker to direct the film for an intended 2012 release .
Toho will distribute the film in Japan.
Dan Lin, Roy Lee and Brian Rogers will produce the pic.
The news comes after word first broke via Bloody Disgusting of the deal back in August of last year.
Fingers crossed that it's a better reboot than Roland Emmerich’s Godzilla from 1998
