Have you seen Predators yet?
It seems some folks who have are wondering why certain footage seen in the trailer did not make it into the final cut of the film.
SPOILERS AHEAD
In the film the group of humans are hunted by three of the alien creatures, But there's a shot in the trailer of Royce (Adrien Brody) being targeted by multiple lasers giving the distinct impression there would be at least a dozen creatures on the hunt
The shot considered the 'money shot' of the trailer...
MTV News spoke with producer Robert Rodriguez .about the change and he confirmed that he shot that scene specifically for the trailer.
"You don't want people to always know. A lot of my movies have trailer shots that I shoot just for the trailer, so that people haven't seen the movie already but they get the feeling of what it's supposed to represent."
He added that "It's kind of a good twist to do that. If you go and you think that's what it's going to be, and then it's not that and it ends up happening in another place in the movie."
Bravo! I think theatrical trailers show way too much of the film nowadays! Any way that a filmmaker can surprise me--I'm all for it...As long as the final film is still good I could care less about the trailer at that point....
