Soft Ball

Former "Cold Case" star Kathryn Morris is in negotiations to join the baseball drama "Moneyball"reports Risky Business.

Based on the Michael Lewis nonfiction bestseller, the story follows Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) who assembled a contending baseball club on a shoestring budget by employing a sophisticated computer-based analysis to draft players.

Morris will play the second wife of Beane

Robin Wright Jonah Hill Stephen Bishop and Philip Seymour Hoffman co-star

Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin wrote the script based on an earlier draft by Stan Chervin.

Director Bennett Miller will call the shots here when production kicks off in Los Angeles next week.
