Based upon the book by Susan Hill the gothic tale follows a young solicitor (Daniel Radcliffe) who takes up a short residence at Eel Marsh House, a desolate and secluded coastal mansion cut off at high tide from the nearby market town in rural England.
Alone and sorting out the affairs of the elderly widow owner who recently died, the lawyer is spooked by unexplained noises and visions of a mysterious woman in black. The book has been adapted into a memorable stage play that has been done around the world for over two decades.
Hinds will play the local land-owner Mr. Daily who counsels the solicitor as he investigates, McTeer will play Daily's wife.
James Watkins is directing the movie from a script by Jane Goldman and shooting kicks off September 23rd.
The pic was originally slated to be shot in 3-D, but the studio suits decided NOT to use the overused format...Yea!
Hinds and Radcliffe will share the screen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I and Part II
