The big-screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s Big Sur is coming together quickly. Jean-Marc Barr (Dogville) will play Kerouac, the author of seminal literature like On the Road, while Josh Lucas (Glory Road) will play friend Neal Cassady, who wrote the poetry with Keroauc. Kate Bosworth is set to play Billie, who’s involved with both men.
The story of the novel from Deadline Hollywood:
“The drama covers Kerouac's move from New York to Northern California, as he tries to rediscover himself after badly handling the fame, drugs and decadent lifestyle that came with his groundbreaking novel On The Road.”
Interesting that there’s a rush to production for this one just after the On the Road adaptation from Walter Salles is picking up steam.
How do you feel about this adaptation?
