Hopes for a sequel to last Summer's The A-Team movie now dashed, and having lost out on the chance to play Green Lantern, Bradley Cooper may finally get the lead in a potential comic book based action franchise; Starring in the upcoming remake of The Crow says Heat Vision
James O'Barr's gothic comic book series followed musician Eric Draven who is murdered trying to rescue his girlfriend from thugs, and returns from the dead one year later to exact vengeance.
Like the 1994 Alex Proyas-directed adaptation which became more known for the on set death of its star Brandon Lee , the story follows a rock musician who is murdered while trying to save his fiancee from thugs. He is resurrected by supernatural forces and seeks revenge. That film spawned three sequels, The Crow: City of Angels, The Crow: Salvation, and The Crow: Wicked Prayer, as well as a short-lived TV series The Crow: Stairway to Heaven starring Mark Dacascos.
This remake been around for a long time folks Actor Mark Wahlberg passed on the role while Stephen Norrington walked away from being director over "creative differences".
Nick Cave ("The Proposition") did some work on the script which was said to split the action between the deserts of the U.S. south-west and a more urban location. Now though, a new writer is expected to be brought in to work with helmer Juan Carlos Fresnadillo
Ed Pressman, Jeff Most, Ryan Kavanaugh, Enrique López Lavigne and Belén Atienza will produce.
At first I was very skeptical about this big screen retread but with Fresnadillo on board and Cooper circling Draven--I gotta admit I'm curious to see how this one flies
