Bichir Practices Law For Stone's Savages

Demian Bichir has joined the cast of Oliver Stone's "Savages" says Variety.



Based on author Don Winslow's book the story follows two best friend pot growers (Aaron Johnson, Taylor Kitsch) in Laguna who share a trippy girl named Ophelia (Blake Lively). The duo are so good at their job that an enforcer (Benicio Del Toro) demands they work for his boss, a Mexican drug cartel matriarch Salma Hayek).

Bichir would play Alex, the two-timing attorney who works for the cartel

John Travolta and Uma Thurman and Emile Hirsch also star

Shane Salerno and Winslow wrote the script.  Shooting kicks off July 6th.

Winslow is at work on a prequel to the story
